My question is, is there a requirement to file this form where no inheritance tax is payable either before or after the correction? Has anyone had come across this before? If I were to submit a C4 form HMRC would only write back and ask me to fill in the IHT38 which gives them more information, the information they need to assess the merits of the change in valuation of the house.
