Consequently, it is the point where the counties of Nottingham, Leicester and Derby all meet. We visited on a lovely sunny afternoon and had a great walk alongside the Cranfleet Canal. WebStarting point is Trent Meadows, off Meadow Lane, Long Eaton. Alternatively, from Trent Lock, Lock Lane, Sawley. Time is approximately 2 - 2½ hours. Type of walk, along the river bank and tow path through very flat countryside. Part of the walk takes you alongside the Cranfleet Canal which was cut in 1797 to bypass Thrumpton Weir.
